Ethnic Origin – Updated Descriptions for Outdated Ethnic Codes X and 3
Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all human resource (HR) office employees.
Description: As of October 25, 2022, several Personnel and Payroll Services Division (PPSD) references were updated to correct an error in the Ethic Origin descriptions of Outdated Ethnic Codes X and 3. Originally, these references showed the descriptions as “Not Known.” However, the descriptions for Outdated Ethnic Codes X and 3 should be “Multiple Races (Non-Hispanic or Latino)”, as they existed before their conversion to the Affordable Care Act system (ACAS). All Code X and 3 records were correctly converted to the ACAS in March 2022. Please see below the references that were updated:

Note: The Management Information Retrieval System (MIRS) Handbook will also be updated soon to reflect the correct descriptions for Outdated Ethnic Codes X and 3.
