Introduction to Salary Determinations
Salary Determination: Appointments and Status (run time: approximately 11 minutes)
In this module we discuss the 6 different types of status you can achieve in state service. We discuss permanent status, probationary status, limited term status, temporary appointment, C.E.A. and out of class. We give definitions of each and which of these give you Status with the State of California. This module is meant to give you a solid foundation for use when beginning a Salary Determination.
Fundamentals of Salary Determinations (run time: approximately 30 minutes)
This module provides foundational laws and rules, in addition to information published by the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) and the State Personnel Board (SPB) integral to salary determinations such as, employee status, anniversary dates, salary determination formulas, the entrance rate rule, and more.
This is a mandatory prerequisite for all other salary determinations virtual classes.
Introduction to New Salary Determination Instructions and SPB rule 429 (run time: approximately 8 minutes)
In this module we will then discuss a new SPB rule change from a pretty important transfer rule 433 that has gone away and been replaced by rule 429.
Module 1: Introduction to Salary Determination (run time: approximately 38 minutes)
The purpose of this training module is to provide basic knowledge on gaining status in state service and transferring within state service. This training module also provides information and detailed instruction on why and how we use the Compounding Formula to transfer in state service.
