Verification of Employment (VOE) Resources for State Employees

Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all human resources (HR) office employees and please share this employee bulletin with all of your employees.

Description: State employees who require employment and income verification can obtain their VOE using the following options:

  • Work Number: An automated service that state departments and California State University (CSU) campuses voluntarily elect to participate in.
  • Contact Departmental Human Resources (HR) Office if the employee cannot obtain VOE from the Work Number.
  • State Locator: Contact the State Locator by phone at (916) 322-2760 to obtain the employees' civil service agency or CSU campus contact information.
