Telework Stipend
Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all human resources (HR) office employees.
Description: The telework stipend will be issued as a supplemental payment and must be keyed via Payroll Input Process (PIP) for eligible employees. Eligibility currently extends to employees in BU 02, 07, 09, 10, 12, 13 and excluded employees. Please refer to the CalHR Pay Differential for eligibility information so as not issue payments to employees in collective bargaining units that are not eligible for the telework stipend. This stipend is effective as of 10/01/2021, for retroactive payments, review the eligibility requirement to ensure all employees who are eligible, regardless of current employment status (e.g., retirees, resignations, moving from an eligible to ineligible bargaining unit) receive the proper payment.
A subsequent broadcast email will be sent from the State Controller's Office (SCO) to provide agencies a Telework Stipend Toolkit with instructions on uploading batch payment requests through ConnectHR. The batch payment request through ConnectHR is an optional resource to help streamline the payment process normally keyed via PIP.
Population Affected: All HR Offices.
