Important Cal Employee Connect (CEC) Update Regarding July Paycheck Changes to be Posted
Action Required by Department: Encourage your employees to register and use CEC to receive important messages about changes to their July earnings statements.
Description: With the aim of reducing questions employees might have about changes to July paychecks, an update with the following information will appear on CEC when July earnings statements are posted:
Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2020 has ended. Statewide, employees will no longer be subject to a salary reduction that was implemented in exchange for PLP hours.
Employee contributions to prefund retiree health benefits have been restored. All eligible employees will resume contributing a specified percentage of pay to prefund retiree health benefits. This contribution will appear on the OPEB/CERBT line of your earnings statement.
Salary increases have been applied. During 2020, many compensation increases were suspended or deferred. Bargaining agreements effective July 1, 2021 included General Salary Increases and Special Salary Adjustments for eligible employees.
Employees can register and access their CEC account at https://connect.sco.ca.gov/, and may access the portal from home or work using most internet-connected devices.
