Supplemental Paid Sick Leave (SPSL) Update

Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all departmental human resources (HR) employees.

Description: Effective July 1, 2021, HR offices are no longer required to submit a STD. 674 – Payroll Adjustment Notice for SPSL payment adjustments due to the conclusion of the Personal Leave Program (PLP).  Pay periods before July 1, 2021 that require an adjustment need to be sent to the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act (EPSLA) and Emergency Family Medical Leave Act  (EFMLA) adjustment email box ppsdepslaefmlaadj@sco.ca.gov. HR offices are required to submit a STD. 674 – Payroll Adjustment Notice for employees that are participating in the Voluntary Personal Leave Program (VPLP) to issue the SPSL at their regular rate of pay.
