Consolidated Benefits (CoBen) Program Allowance Correction

Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all departmental human resources office employees. 

Release Date: January 8, 2021 

Date Incident Identified: Decemeer 31, 2020 

Description: Incorrect Co-Ben Allowance amounts were issued for the December 2020 pay period. The employee records are being identified and corrected for the January 2021 pay period. December payment adjustments will be issued as quickly as possible by the State Controller's Office. 

Population Affected: Approximately 3,500 Civil Service Exempt and Excluded employees tied to Service Employees International Union (SEIU) that had Flex Cash amounts of $130 or $155 cancelled for the July 2020 pay period and subsequently enrolled in a health plan during open enrollment effective January 1, 2021.
