Statewide Customer Contact Center - Call Directory

Action Required: Share the following information with all human resources (HR) office employees.

Description: The Personnel and Payroll Services Division (PPSD) made an enhancement to the Statewide Customer Contact Center (SCCC) - Call Directory that provides a breakdown of each program area within the Personnel and Payroll Operations Bureau (PPOB).

Step one of the call directory now displays a link identifying each of the PPOB Civil Service Program areas and a general summary of the workloads performed. Please refer to the call directory before calling the State Controller’s Office (SCO) to avoid misdirecting your call or voicemail, which may lead to delayed responses.

Note: Due to extremely high call volumes and wait times, we urge you to leave a detailed voicemail whenever possible. Please speak clearly and slowly, leaving the following details:

  • Employee First and Last Name
  • Social Security Number
  • Call Back Telephone Number
  • Human Resource Contact Name
  • Descriptive Nature of the Call

It is the mission of PPSD to provide accurate and timely personnel and payroll services through quality customer service. Please direct any questions to the SCCC at (916) 372-7200.
