California Leave Accounting System (CLAS) Liaison Line is Unavailable

Description: The California Leave Accounting System Liaison Inquiry Line is still unavailable at this time. The CLAS Unit has set up a temporary phone number where voicemail inquiries can be left: (916) 650-0132. CLAS can also still be reached via email at CLAS@sco.ca.gov.

Process Change - Direct Deposit Paper STD. 699 Change Effective November 1, 2023

Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all departmental human resources (HR) employees and take appropriate action, as necessary.

Description: Process Change - Direct Deposit – Effective November 1, 2023, SCO will no longer accept paper submissions of STD. 699 Direct Deposit Enrollment forms.

Alternatives: Agencies with a universal email may have employees enroll in Direct Deposit or change their bank account information in Cal Employee Connect (CEC) from a network computer, after turning on the multifactor authentication. Or agencies can request access to upload direct deposit enrollment files through a secure FTP process. To request a demonstration of the FTP process, please send an email to PPSDDirectDeposit@sco.ca.gov.

Cancelation of Direct Deposit is done via a phone call to the Direct Deposit program at (916) 372-7200, option 1.

Enroll Now! Training Courses September through December 2023

Description: The Personnel and Payroll Services Division (PPSD) Statewide Training Program has opened enrollment for 3rd Trimester classes, September through December 2023, for the following PPSD Training courses:

  • Virtual Corrective Actions
  • Virtual Fundamentals of Personnel: Qualifying Pay Periods, Sick Leave, and Vacation
  • Virtual PAR Documentation (VPD)
  • CA Leave Accounting System Training

Virtual Introduction to Salary Determinations – Level I will rollout in September when development of the course is complete.
