General Salary Increases and Special Salary Adjustments Update
Action Required: Share the following information with all human resources (HR) office employees.
Description: As you are aware, the State reached agreement for a historic number of bargaining contracts during this bargaining cycle. This means that the Department of Human Resources (CalHR) and the State Controller's Office (SCO) have a record-setting amount of contract implementation work to accomplish.
CalHR completed the technical documentation that SCO is using to program pay changes for employees eligible for these salary increases. This includes General Salary Increases (GSI) for most of the 14 units recently ratified, more than 600 Special Salary Adjustments and changes to more than 90 Pay Differentials.
Timing of the increases hitting paychecks depends on many factors. SCO is working to update the Civil Service Pay Scales (CSP) with the various increases. Along with that, SCO is preparing to update the salaries of the vast majority of impacted rank and file, excluded, and exempt employees; SCO will share information regarding those records which will require manual keying by departments via Personnel Letters. Please be sure to read CalHR Pay Letters and SCO Personnel Letters thoroughly for processing information.
CalHR and SCO are closely collaborating to ensure that state employees receive their increases as timely as possible.

Leave Activity and Balances and Employee Statement of Leave Reports Delayed

Description: The Leave Activity and Balances (LAB) and Employee Statement of Leave (ESL) Reports have not been published this morning as scheduled. The processes will rerun tonight and both reports are expected to be available tomorrow morning.
