Courier Delays Impacting Warrants
Action Required by Department: Share the following information with all Civil Service Human Resources and Accounting Offices
Description: The State Controller’s Office (SCO) contracted courier is experiencing pandemic related delays in deliveries. To offset this delay, SCO will begin releasing all payroll to departments as it is available. For December, early pay, which was planned for release on 12/28/2020 and Monthly Payroll, planned for 12/29/2020 will be mailed today, 12/24/2020. If warrants arrive early, do not release the payroll to your employees until payday. Please be aware that although we are releasing early, circumstances may still cause delays in delivery. SCO will continue to release payroll early to the courier until further notice. For questions please call the Administration and Disbursements Division at (916) 445-6999.
Please encourage all employees to sign up for Direct Deposit. To assist departments in this effort, the Personnel and Payroll Services Division has created a Direct Deposit Communication Toolkit.
