Scope of Position:
Under close supervision provided by a Staff Services Manager I of a Reporting Unit of the Holder Operations Bureau, the Program Technician (PT) is responsible for the less difficult review and process of Unclaimed Property reports received. The duties of this class require detailed knowledge of and ability to interpret, apply and communicate specific laws, rules and policies related to program work. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
(Candidates must perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations.)
- Provide responses via telephone or written communication to holders of Unclaimed Property, seeking information or clarification of Unclaimed Property law, NAUPA II compliance programs and penalties for untimely reporting.
- Review and verify data contained in the less difficult Unclaimed Property reports for completeness, accuracy and compliance with law and regulations and reporting procedures. Take necessary action to correct reporting deficiencies, which includes contacting holders or administrators and working to obtain clarification of information and/or additional data, using written or telephone communications.
- Key or load the less difficult Unclaimed Property holder reports and owner information onto the Unclaimed Property database. Conduct simple research in CA Notice and UPS2000 to process reports. Track assigned reports and follow up on unresolved problems. Provide status updates for the team lead and/or management.
- Process letters to holders with non-compliant reports for Unclaimed Property
- Archive reports for storage on-site and for the State Records Center.
- During peak seasons, assist the Reporting Intake Unit in sorting Holder reports for efficient processing.

- Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
