Payroll Deduction - Cancellation

The State Controller’s Office (SCO) completed the annual audit of participation levels in the State’s Voluntary Miscellaneous Payroll Deduction Program. Deduction organizations must maintain minimum participation levels to participate in this program. Effective with the June 2022 pay period the SCO will no longer withhold the deduction codes listed below from employee pay warrants. This action is being taken per California Government Code Section 1153(f), which provides for the cancellation of deductions that are not administratively feasible to maintain. Deduction organizations are aware of the payroll deduction cancellations and no employee action is necessary to implement these cancellations. Revisions to the Payroll Procedures Manual (PPM) are forthcoming. 

Impacted employees that have these deduction have been identified in the following agency codes: 026, 027, 054, 056, 061, 086, 180, 197, 388, 455, 525, 541, 542, 559, 813, 841, 842, 900, 903, 904, 905, 907, 909, 910, 912, 913, 915, and 919.
