SACRAMENTO — State Controller Malia M. Cohen today issued the following statement on the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein:

“Today is a tremendous loss for California and the nation with the passing of Senator Dianne Feinstein. She was my inspiration for committing to a career in public service as a child and continued to serve as a mentor and guide throughout my professional and personal life.

We lost a fierce, passionate leader today, and a trailblazer who worked tirelessly to keep Californians safe and defend those without a voice. I ask those of us who are honored and privileged to serve to take a moment to remember her commitment to bipartisanship and working across the aisle on the issues that truly matter.

I send my deepest condolences to her family.”
