Tips for Searching for Audits and Related Information on the Controller's Web Site

As part of its efforts to improve transparency and service, the State Controller's office is in the process of making more of its audits, oversight reports, and related public documents available on the Controller's public Web site.

This is an ongoing process, and it includes plans to add additional Web audit pages and search tools as more information is posted. Most of our currently posted audits can be found using the links from the main Audits Program page. Web site visitors may also wish to use the Controller's general Web site's search tool to locate documents that already have been posted.

These documents are indexed by key words. When searching, tips include:

  • Be as specific as possible in your search terms;
  • If looking for a document involving a particular government entity or community, include that as well.
