Committee on County Tax Collecting Procedures
The Committee on County Tax Collecting Procedures is established pursuant to Government Code section 30302, as an advisory Committee to the State Controller’s Office for consultation on tax levying and collecting procedures.
Under the law, the State Controller appoints 10 members to the Committee according to the following:
- Two members shall be county auditors
- Four members shall be county tax collectors
- Two members shall be county assessors
- Two members shall be members of a county board of supervisors

Committee on County Tax Collecting Procedures Mission Statement:
The mission of the Committee on County Tax Collecting Procedures is to assist the State Controller in the development of tax levying and collecting procedures for purposes of instructing, advising and directing tax collectors in their duties. The Committee may advise the State Controller’s Office on policy development and tax matters.
